When to bring your child in
Book a check-up if you notice an eye turning in or out, head tilting, sitting very close to screens, frequent eye rubbing, squinting in bright light, or persistent watering. A first eye examination is recommended by the age of three, and again before starting school.

Lazy eye responds best to treatment before the age of eight, so early detection genuinely changes the outcome. Treatment usually combines correct glasses with patching or atropine therapy, supported by orthoptic exercises.
